Harvey Dean, M.S. Old Southwest Bowie, African Blackwood / Mother of Pearl (SOLD)

This is Harvey Dean's "Old Southwest Bowie".  It is Brand New and direct from Harvey's shop.  Harvey is a master at making both fixed blade knives and folders.  He is consistently producing outstanding pieces that are highly coveted by collectors and users alike.  His grinds, and fit and finish are second to none.  To hold a Harvey Dean Bowie in your hand is the only way to truly appreciate the craftsmanship and balance.  Harvey forged the blade of 1084 carbon steel - any marks you see are from whatever is sticking to the oil that is coating the blade.  The fittings, including the guard, ferrule and pins are 416 stainless steel.  And the handle is made from a solid block of African Blackwood - you cannot see any seams.  Inlaid on both sides of the handle are elongated Mother of Pearl oval "shields", with beautiful fiery color.  This knife absolutely melts in the palm of your hand.  To add to this beautiful knife, Harvey made a frog button leather sheath.  This is an outstanding example of Harvey's extraordinary work.  It is being offered at what would be Harvey's website or show table price - and no wait time!
