Very early example of a Rick Hinderer tactical folding knife.  This was made long before Rick developed the XM line of knives.  He believes that this one was handmade in the late 1990's, perhaps 1999.  There were only a couple of these made.  He recalled making the stippling on the pocket clip with a Dremel Tool.  This is a very rare piece.  He did not recall the steel, but the handle inserts appear to be black G-10 (or something similar).  It is a "non-flipper", has a thick liner lock, and dual thumbstud.  The blade opens silky smooth, locks up tight without any movement, and sits centered in the liners.

If you are Hinderer collector, you are likely not to find another one of these anywhere.  In fact, you may have never seen or even been aware that one of these existed.  One of the other few that were made is with one of the Hinderer employees.  The whereabouts of any other is unknown.  Not one to let slip away.  A piece of Rick's 25 year history in the knife industry.
