André Andersson's "Stinger" is a piece of the knifemaker's history.  This knife is a real "classic" piece.  It was built in 2002, about 3 years after André met Roger Bergh, and subsequently started making knives.  Prior to making this knife, he had completed about 10 - 15 pieces.  This early example highlights his skill at carving and unique design.  The blade is 3-bar Damascus - Star Twist core with twisted edge and spine.  The "spike" of the stinger is also twisted Damascus.  The spike was inspired by a wasp or bee stinger.  The handle is stabilized Alder Root and fossilized natural material, separated by 2 stainless spacers.  The accompanying sheath is rawhide leather, also made by and expertly carved by André.  This knife was one of the first knives he sold in the U.S., launching his outstanding career as a world-renowned artist and blade smith.  This is a unique, rare, and one of a kind piece.
