Bill Ruple is a master at making slip joint folders.  He has taught and inspired so many knifemakers on how to make folding knives, that it's almost impossible to list them.  You have to hold one of Bill's knives to truly appreciate the fit and finish, and his attention to detail.  He has been making knives since 1988.  The quality of his knives has been consistent throughout his career.  No matter what show he attends, he always sells out - and quickly!

This 3-blade Split Back Sowbelly folding knife features a Clip Point blade, and two (2) matching blades with slight trailing points.  Notice in the photos the split back "gap" in the springs.  This knife is new from Bill at the 2021 NYCKS.  Bill told me that this is the first and only split back Sowbelly that he has done with this particular blade configuration.  The front and rear bolsters are 416 stainless steel, as are the pins and liners (the liners are integral to the bolster).  The scales are two slabs of beautifully matched presentation grade natural Stag.  There's an inlaid 416 stainless steel crest-shaped shield on the presentation side of the handle.  All the blades have half-stops, lock up tight with no blade play, and the blade seatings are all properly aligned.  Great walk-and-talk from the master!  Comes in a "Ruple" padded, zippered case.
