Bill Ruple is a master at making slip joint folders.  He has taught and inspired so many knifemakers on how to make folding knives, that it's almost impossible to list them.  You have to hold one of Bill's knives to truly appreciate the fit and finish, and his attention to detail.  He has been making knives since 1988.  The quality of his knives has been consistent throughout his career.  He has made knives with from one to five blades.  No matter what he makes or what show he attends, he always sells out - and quickly!

This 3-blade Stockman is one of Bill's classic patterns.  All the blades are CPM-154 stainless steel, with a hand rubbed satin finish.  The main blade is a Drop Point grind, and the other two are Pen and Sheepsfoot blades.  The design, and the way they fit together requires amazingly tight tolerances.  And it is perfect in every way!  Each blade has a half-stop, and features Bill's signature walk-and-talk.  The front and rear bolsters are 416 stainless steel, as are the liners, pins, backspring, and oval shield.  Bill has added rope patterned file-work down the center of the backspring, and fine file-work on both liners.   The handle scales are two beautifully mated pieces of Amber Jigged Bone, done in a serpentine pattern.  All the blades lock up tight with no play, and the blade seating of each is spot-on.  Nice comfortable nail nicks all the way around, with firm yet easy pulls.  Comes in a generic padded, zippered case.
