Bill Ruple is a master at making slip joint folders.  He has taught and inspired so many knifemakers on how to make folding knives, that it's almost impossible to list them.  You have to hold one of Bill's knives to truly appreciate the fit and finish, and his attention to detail.  He has been making knives since 1988.  The quality of his knives has been consistent throughout his career.  No matter what show he attends, he always sells out - and quickly!  This knife is Brand New and direct from Bill.  It just came from Blade 2016.

This large slip joint trapper folder is a new design for Bill.  It features his liner-less construction, and for a knife of it's size, only weighs a mere 1.8 ounces - with the lanyard!  Easy to drop in your pocket and forget about it.  The trapper-shaped blade is made from CPM-154 steel, the pivot and pins are 416 stainless steel, and there's a file-worked back-spacer also of 416 stainless.  The scales are alternating Carbon Fiber and Green G10, and there is a Carbon Fiber front bolster.  This is the first time Bill has done this new knife design in this handle and bolster combination, and it was the only one he had at the Blade Show.  He also added a lanyard hole, and included a knotted piece of paracord for the lanyard.  The knife features a half-stop, locks up tight with no blade play, and the blade seating is perfect.  Nice large nail nick, with a firm yet easy pull.  Great walk-and-talk from the master!  Where can you get a brand new Bill Ruple single blade trapper for this price!
