Bob Loveless-Steve Johnson Caper Hunting Knife #772, Leather Sheath
Loveless / Johnson Caper hunting knife, serial number 772 as marked on the front side of the ricasso, as well as handwritten on the backside of the leather sheath. Stamped "Loveless Johnson Makers" on the front side of the blade. According to my research, Bob Loveless told A.G. Russell that only 37 knives were made and marked Loveless-Johnson during the time Steve Johnson was a partner with Bob, and worked in the Loveless shop. The knife is in mint condition. The mirror polished blade has no marks whatsoever. The sheath is in excellent condition, as well. There are a few small stains and surface marks, as well as two dark lines below the serial number, as if something was blacked out. Full tapered tang, which Bob was known for, and popularized. The handle scales are contoured Burgundy Micarta. The oversized pins have brass rings around them, and the lanyard hole is brass lined, as well.
