Brand New and direct from Crusader Forge is this FIFP EX, "Fear Is For
Prey Excalibur" frame-lock flipper folder. Crusader Forge Custom Knives
are designed for extreme and hard use. All Crusader Forge knives are
100% custom handcrafted by master bladesmith and designer, Maciej
Szczerbiak. They are 100%
made in U.S.A. from domestic steel and materials. His blade material is
Triple Tempered CPM S30V Stainless Steel with an HRC of
59-60. Each Crusader Forge knife handle is custom fabricated. They
are custom textured to ensure positive hold,
regardless of your grip configuration. The handles are fastened to the
knife using Stainless Steel Fasteners with Torx ™ T25 drive for maximum
strength. Each knife design is prototyped and
function tested against various materials such as wood, rope, muscle,
bone, sheet metal and anything else Maciej may have left in the shop
that has reached
the end of its useful life. Edge holding characteristics, transverse
toughness and cutting ability are all evaluated prior to finalizing a
knife design.
This FIFP EX Tanto features a hand-sculpted full titanium frame, and CPM S30V blade. This one is special. It is marked on the COA as "01 - 01". It has a Tanto-shaped blade, and it is a flipper running on bearings. It flips effortlessly and fast. It locks with a clunk. With such a big blade and bearings, you need no wrist action. If you flip it too hard you'll lock the frame so tight you might have a hard time releasing it to close the blade. And when it closes it closes fast - so be careful. The frame, clip and blade finishes are all done in Maciej's signature Phantom Finish. It has one of the coolest Phantom finishes we've seen. The colors of the blade make it look like it is on fire - absolutely stunning! If you are into big folders - heck, big knives - this is the one for you. The frame-lock holds the blade open rock solid - no movement whatsoever. The blade is 0.190" thick, and the grinds are perfect. The knife comes in a Crusader Forge box, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Maciej, as well as the pictured Crusader Forge patch.
