Jean-Pierre Martin is a world-renown knifemaker from Arles, France.  JP Martin has been making knives for over 20 years.  His fit-and-finish and attention to detail is top shelf.  He only makes about 25 knives a year.  His knives are works of art, and clearly demonstrate his outstanding fit-and-finish and close attention to detail.  He does all his work by hand.  He does not use any high speed / precision equipment.  And he achieves incredible action on his knives without the use of bearings or washers.  He relies on precision geometry and mechanics, and incredibly tight tolerances.  Once you flip one of his folders you will definitely understand, and certainly be impressed.  JP has teamed up with Paris, France knifemaker and knife designer Tashi Bharucha, who is another world renown artisan in the knife industry, to create a flipper model they call EMPIRE "MILITARY".  Tashi was the designer and JP was the craftsman who made the knife.

This Empire Military is new from JP Martin's table at the 2022 Blade Show.  It features a Persian-shaped RWL 34 steel blade with a stonewashed finish, and vintage canvas Micarta scales.  The full backspacer is also the same vintage canvas Micarta and is slightly raised for a positive feel and better grip.  The oversized bolster and deep carry, tip-up mounted pocket clip are both tumbled titanium.  There is no hardware visible on the clip.  The blade flips with authority, and is both fast and smooth.  It is perfectly centered when closed, the lock-up is early and secure, and there is no lock stick. This would make a great EDC or addition to your collection.  Comes in the JP Martin drawstring leather pouch, with a Certificate of Authenticity and business card.
