NEW, Rick Hinderer Custom FIRETAC, Hand Ground Drop Point Blade, 2017 Blade Show
The custom, hand-ground Firetac was one of Rick's early frame-lock models from the late 1990's. Rick decided to re-make the Firetac, and just introduced it in an "updated" version at this year's 2017 Blade Show in Atlanta. Although Rick has kept some of the great features found in the original Firetac. You can see the similarities, and compare it to the original HERE. This knife is fresh from his lottery, and it is sweet! The Firetac differs from Rick's other folding knives, in terms of its design. However, it still holds true to the Hinderer Knives company's reputation for overbuilt toughness. Compared to other models that Rick is making today, the new Firetac has a much thinner profile - in both thickness and width. The Firetac makes for a great EDC.
This Firetac features a S35VN tumbled finish, drop point blade, a "weathered" red micarta handle with a lightly textured faux inlay, textured titanium lock-side, dual thumbstuds, and titanium pocket clip currently set for tip down carry - although the clip can easily be reversed for tip up carry. The blade runs on washers, and the action is smooth and authoritative. The lock-up is rock solid, and the blade sits perfectly centered in the frame when closed. It also has a couple of flow-through barrel spacers. There are only a couple of custom Firetac models currently available anywhere. Don't miss out. Grab this one while you can! Comes in Rick's white box with baggie and peanuts.
