Ray Cover Lock-Back Folding Knife, D-2 Blade (SOLD)
Ray Cover is best known for his flawless design and execution of the
slip-joint folding knife. His fit and finish, no matter what he crafts,
is perfect. He is a master knifemaker who's work is highly regarded, and coveted by
collectors.
This lock-back folding knife is in
excellent condition. It has never been used, carried, or sharpened. It was acquired from the collection of the original owner who purchased it directly from Ray, many years ago at a Midwest show. The blade
is made from D-2 stainless steel with a satin finish, and the front and rear dovetail bolsters are
nickel silver. The handle is 2 nicely matched pieces of an unknown type of wood, and they are in excellent condition. The nail nick has an easy, smooth pull, and the blade has that great "snap" that accompanies all of
Ray's folders. The blade lock-up is tight, but has the slightest evidence of movement that is barely perceptible, if you really try to move it. The bolsters do have some fine lines, and patina from age and storage. A great one to drop in your pocket, for EDC. Will come in a case.
Condition: Previously owned. Excellent condition.
