Toby Hill has been making knives for just over 2 years.  His knives do not reflect the relatively short time he has been at it.  They are the work of a more seasoned slip-joint knifemaker.  No wonder, Toby learned to make knives from non other than Bill Ruple, a master at making slip joint folders.  Toby's work is clean, and he has a great eye for detail.  Toby is definitely "one to watch".  This knife is Brand New and direct from Toby at the 2018 International Custom Cutlery Exposition.

This large Lanny's Clip slip-joint folder features a CPM-154 stainless steel blade, and beautifully matched natural stag scales with an inlaid 416 stainless arrowhead shield on the presentation side.  The fluted bolster is 416 stainless steel.  The pins, lined lanyard hole, and liners are also 416 stainless.  Toby has done some fine file-work on both the liners and backspring.  The knife has a half-stop, locks up tight with no blade play, and the blade seating is perfectly centered.  Nice long nail nick, with a firm and smooth pull.  Great walk-and-talk from the student of the master.  Comes in a padded, zippered case.
