W.T Fuller, Harvey McBurnette, and Dick Dorough all worked together at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber factory in Gadsden, Alabama.  W.T. lost one of his hands in a treadmill accident and was retired from work.  All three were friends and machinists.  W.T. needed a front locking knife so that he could open and close it with one hand.  The three makers worked together and developed a front locking folder.  W.T. started making knives for friends, and then went on to shows in New York and other large cities, as did Harvey and Dick.  W.T. once said he sold Al Mar one of his front locks, and it was not long after that the same design showed up in Al Mar's knives.  W.T. held no ill will; he was proud to have had it copied and used.  W.T. passed away about 15 - 18 years ago.  His knives are known as "One Handers".

This is one heavy duty folder from "Dub".  We are not sure what the blade steel is, but the front and rear bolsters appear to be nickel silver.  The handle material is Oosik - nicely dovetailed into the handle frame.  The locking mechanism is a front back lock.  There is a forward nail nick.  It opens and closes with a loud "snap" - this one really walks and talks!  Nice braided lanyard that looks to be original to the knife.  There is a snap pouch sheath, but I am not sure if it is original to the knife - although it fits perfectly.  There are some very faint lines on the bolsters from the sheath and age.  The Oosik is tight with no cracking or shrinkage.  The knife weighs in at a substantial 9 ounces.  Excellent fit and finish, which W.T. was known for.
