Bill Ruple is a master at making slip joint folders.  He has taught and inspired so many knifemakers on how to make folding knives, that it's almost impossible to list them.  You have to hold one of Bill's knives to truly appreciate the fit and finish, and his attention to detail.  He has been making knives since 1988.  The quality of his knives has been consistent throughout his career.  No matter what show he attends, he always sells out - and quickly!  This knife is Brand New and direct from Bill.

This large slip joint Trapper folding knife features a clip point CPM-154 steel blade and 416 stainless steel front and rear bolsters, pins, and liners.  There is fine file-work along the entire length of the top side of the liners, and "vine" file-work that runs the entire length of the backspring, continuing onto the blade spine all the way to the start of the clip point.  Look closely, Bill's fit and finish and tolerances are so precise that it's impossible to see where the file-work on the backspring meets the file-work on the blade.  The scales are two beautifully matched stag slabs, and there is an large inlaid 416 SS oval shield on one side.  The knife features a half-stop, locks up tight with no blade play, and the blade seating is perfect.  Nice large nail nick, with a firm yet easy pull.  Great walk-and-talk from the master!
