John Gonzalez Custom USAGI Dervish Knives Frame-Lock Folder
John Gonzalez Custom USAGI Dervish Knives Frame-Lock Folder
John Gonzalez is the creative maker behind Dervish Knives, and is best known for his modern interpretation of classic designs. With a degree in graphic design and illustration, and a long-standing passion for knives and swords, John’s unique perspective yields knives with clean lines and distinct visual beauty. This custom USAGI frame-lock folder is new, and comes from John Gonzalez. It features a dark stonewashed CTS-XHP stainless steel blade, with matching finish on the hardware (e.g. pivot, thumb stud, overtravel stop). The two (2) stand-off backspacers, and the screws for the thumb stud, overtravel stop and pocket clip are all anodized to a copper(ish) color. The titanium frame has been anodized with a very unique Entropic finish. And the tip-up mounted pocket clip has a distressed urban decay finish. The Usagi is one of the most sought-after Dervish customs. The blade opens smoothly with the thumb stud, and can easily be flicked open as fast as a flipper. I believe the blade runs on bearings. The blade locks open tight with no blade play, and the blade sits centered in the frame when closed. John marks DERVISH on the bevel of the blade of the presentation side. The knife comes in a padded, zippered case provided by John, with two (2) Velcro rubberize patches, one with his logo and the other with Dervish Knives. Also included are two (2) different Dervish Knives decals, and a small envelope with both a COA and John's signed business card.
