Mick Strider Custom (MSC) Hand Signed AJAX, Lifter's Leather Sheath (SOLD)
This is a particularly rare Mick Strider Custom AJAX, hand signed "M. Strider". We have confirmed that this AJAX model was made in approximately 2008. We have also learned from a reliable Strider source that this may be the only one like it in this configuration, making it a "one of a kind". There have been a number of different variations of this knife made over the years. The AJAX, or "Gut Shovel" was designed to allow for chopping and stabbing. It was made for maximum penetration of clothing and rigs. To quote one of the Forged in Fire judges, "It will kill" - that's what this knife was designed to do - reach vital organs. However, it could also be used for detailed fine cutting and slicing when choking up with your thumb on the ramp / jimping forward of the guard. This AJAX blade is S30V stainless with a light camo finish, and Mick's signature Nightmare Grind. The top edge of the blade is sharpened 3 1/2' back from the tip. The handle is blue and green G10, contoured for grip and comfort. The Black leather sheath is custom fitted, made by David Abramson of Lifter's Leather, and is also stamped with the Strider sword and winged logo. It is configured for vertical carry. This knife has been previously owned. It is not in new condition, but appears to have never been used or sharpened. The edges appear to me to be original to the knife. It may have been carried, and spent some time in the sheath. There are some very fine lines and shallow scratches (you cannot feel them; they appear "shiny" on the dark camo finish), that run parallel to the blade's edges, leading me to believe that it is related more to sheath wear than anything else. It is difficult to say with the camo finish. The sheath is intact, and the stitching is tight. It has some minor dings and marks, but nothing that exposes the raw leather under the black finish.
