Randy Doucette ICON Model Liner-Lock Flipper Knife
Randy Doucette has been collecting and using knives as far back as he can remember. Over the years he has collected a wide variety of handmade and production knives. He is a self-taught knife maker with a background in machining and Tool and Die. He started making knives after work and on weekends in the basement of his first home. He was very satisfied with the first knife he made, and it gave him the passion to continue to refine his skills and designs. He is enthusiastic and overwhelmed with creative ideas to produce the most unique and original knives, which has led him to a career as a full-time knife maker. All of his knives are handmade with 100% thought going into his designs, materials used, cutting performance and balance. He is always working on new designs and will have new photos on a regular basis. His future plans are to learn the art of engraving and add his own unique designs to some of his knives.
This is Randy's Icon model, liner-lock flipper knife. It features a hand ground, spear point S30V stainless steel blade, with a hollow ground edge and slight recurve. The blade rides on a caged ball bearing pivot system, giving it exceptionally smooth flipping action. The ergonomic contoured handle material are scales of pure white G10. The knife just melts in the palm of your hand. The bolster, liners, hardware, three (3) backspacer standoffs and tip-down mounted pocket clip are all titanium. The blade has good detent, locks up tight and is well-seated between the liners slightly favoring the presentation side. The knife is previously owned, from a collection, and in excellent, unused condition. It has never been carried or sharpened. Only handled and admired. It will come in a padded zippered case. This would make a great EDC. Randy's folders demonstrate a high level of creativity and fit-and-finish. You are certain to be impressed and pleased with a custom Doucette folder.
