Windy City Knives recently acquired a relatively large collection of single and multi-blade slip-joint folders, all made by the late Robert "Bob" Enders of Cement City, MI.  They came from a life-long collection of knives that were well-taken care of, and properly stored.  There are varying patterns, and in general, all are in excellent condition.  They have all been inspected and checked for fit, finish, functionality and condition.  Please take the time to carefully read the complete description of each.  Bob Enders passed away in December 1999.  His knives have become very desirable, and highly collectible.

This is a Bob Enders six-blade Congress, slip-joint, folding knife.  The highly polished blade steel is most likely ATS 34, a stainless steel often used by Mr. Enders.  The two most outer blades - spey and pen - are both marked "R. Enders Maker" inside the outline of the state of Michigan.  The front and rear bolsters, and liners, are most likely nickel silver.  The handle scales are brown jigged bone, both in perfect condition.  The blades each open with a nail nick, and each has a half-stop.  The pulls are firm and smooth, and each blade closes with a snap.  Each blade locks up tight with no play when opened.  By today's slip-joint makers' standards, the blade alignments are not perfect, but do keep in mind that this knife is more than 20 years old, and not many knifemakers were making six-blade Congresses in the 1990's.  The real estate in the blade well is limited, and cramming six blades between the liners was a challenge...and still is.  The outer most blades do barely touch the liners, and there may be some fine micro scratches on the blades' grind surfaces between other blades, from the "flex" of opening and closing.  This is compounded by the fact that the highly polished steel picks up everything.  The liners are not relieved.  The knife has never been used, carried or sharpened.  The bolsters are in excellent condition, with nothing more than some wispy storage marks and patina from age.  This is a solid knife, and by no means a safe queen or collector grade knife.  It is however, a great EDC.  And if you are a fan of slip-joints and / or Bob's knives, a six-blade knife is an impressive piece.  There is no case.  The knife will come securely packaged.  The shadows seen on the blades are creases from the light tent, reflecting on the polished finish of the blades.
