Bill Ruple 2-Blade Amber Stag Large Folding Hunter, Slip-Joint Knife (SOLD)
Bill Ruple 2-Blade Amber Stag Large Folding Hunter, Slip-Joint Knife (SOLD)
Bill Ruple is a master at making slip joint folders. He has taught and inspired so many knifemakers on how to make folding knives, that it's almost impossible to list them. You have to hold one of Bill's knives to truly appreciate the fit and finish, and his attention to detail. He has been making knives since 1988. The quality of his knives has been consistent throughout his career. He has made knives with from one to five blades. No matter what he makes or what show he attends, he always sells out - and quickly! This Bill Ruple two-blade Hunter features a hand-rubbed Clip Point blade and Straight Back blade, both made from CPM-154 stainless steel. Both blades have half stops. Both blades have ample nail nicks with firm, smooth pulls. The handle scales are two beautifully matched and richly colored pieces of Amber Stag. The front and rear bolsters are 416 stainless steel, as are the liners and pins. The outer liners are integral to the bolsters. The oval shield is also 416 stainless and is stamped with Bill's RUPLE mark. Bill has done some beautiful matching vine file-work along both backsprings and has file-worked the outer and center liners, as well. Bill's tolerances, and fit and finish, are second to none. Bill has also stamped RUPLE on the ricasso of the clip point blade. Both blades lock up tight and are centered between their respective liners. This is a one-owner knife from a collection, in excellent to near mint condition. Comes in a padded, zippered RUPLE case.
