Bill Ruple Remington 1306 Stag Lock-Back Folding Knife (SOLD)
Bill Ruple Remington 1306 Stag Lock-Back Folding Knife (SOLD)
Bill Ruple is a master at making slip joint folders. He is also just as much a master when it comes to making lock-back knives. However, Bill doesn't make many lock-backs. This is the only one I have been fortunate to get directly from him in years. Bill has taught and inspired so many knifemakers on how to make folding knives, that it's almost impossible to list them. You have to hold one of Bill's knives to truly appreciate the fit and finish, and his attention to detail. He has been making knives since 1988. The quality of his knives has been consistent throughout his career. No matter what show he attends, he always sells out - and quickly! This knife is brand new and direct from Bill's table at the 2022 Nashville Custom Knife Show. This Remington 1306 lock-back is a rare knife from Bill. It features a CPM-154 stainless steel blade with some fine jimping on the spine, and beautifully matched amber dyed stag scales from Culpepper and Company with an inlaid 416 stainless Remington Bullet shield on the presentation side. The bolster is 416 stainless steel, and is integral to the liners. The pins, lanyard hole, and liners, are all 416 stainless. When you look at the close-up photo of the blade centering, notice the V cut into the black Micarta backspacer. This is designed to ensure the edge of the blade does not hit anything when it closes. The blade locks up tight with no play, and the blade seating is centered. Nice snap both opening and closing. Comes in a Ruple padded, zippered case.
