Tom Overeynder 2-Blade Serpentine Trapper, Black Lip Pearl and Gold Hardware
Tom began making knives in 1977 after seeing a couple handmade knives my father-in-law, who was a master tool and die maker, made. I made seven, all folders, to give away as Christmas gifts to my family members. While searching for what little information that was available at the time I learned there was a collector market. So, I began designing, making, and selling my work and have enjoyed a demand for my handmade knives since that time. I became a full-time maker after my retirement in December 2001 from a 36-year career in the aircraft industry. I prefer making collector grade folders, but I make a few bowies, chute knives, etc. on occasion. You can read more about Tom's illustrious career on his website - About | T.R. Overeynder Knifemaker
This Serpentine Trapper by Tom Overeynder features two (2) hand rubbed satin finished CPM-154 stainless steel blades. The scales are absolutely outstanding presentation grade Black Lip Mother of Pearl, with lots of fiery colors. The knife is of integral construction. The bolsters, liners and springs are all stainless steel. The pins and Bombshell shield are 24K gold. Both blades have half-stops, and the springs are flush in all positions. The knife is stamped number "005", the fifth knife of this model. The blades have nicely sized, comfortable nail nicks, with firm, smooth pulls. The blades lock up tight with no play, and the blade seating is perfectly centered between their respective liners. Nice walk and talk. Comes in a padded zippered case.
