Alexander Poroshyn Stag Zulu, Lock-Back Folding Knife
Alexander Poroshyn Stag Zulu, Lock-Back Folding Knife
This lock-back Zulu was made by Ukrainian knifemaker, Alexander Poroshyn. He is known for his fit-and-finish and quality of the materials he uses. His knives are difficult to acquire and sell rather quickly in the secondary market.
This knife features a Bohler M390 stainless steel drop-point blade. M390 steel is a great choice for this knife, as it contains high amounts of chromium and vanadium as its main components, which gives the blade extreme corrosion resistance and excellent wear resistance. And the finish of M390 stainless steel has a superfine grain structure, making it quite appealing to the eyes.
The scales are beautiful amber dyed "popcorn" stag scales. Alexander refers to the scale material as "deer horn" on the COA. The liners are titanium, and there are stainless steel pins and a Federal shield. Please note that per the original owner Alexander had not made many stag-handled knives when this knife was completed in January 2025.
The blade has a nicely cut nail nick, with a smooth and even pull. There's plenty of blade if you want to "pinch" it open. The blade locks up tight in the open position and sits centered between the liners when closed.
The Zulu comes with the pictured Poroshyn Knives Handmade wooden presentation box and signed certificate card. This knife came from the original owner and was new from Alexander in January 2025.
