Jim Dunlap 2-Blade Premium Amber Stag Trapper with File-Work Slip-Joint Folding Knife (SOLD)
Jim Dunlap is a traditional pattern knifemaker from Oklahoma. He specializes in slip-joint folding knives. Jim's attention to detail and his fit-and-finish are second to none. He uses only the best materials he can find. He is committed to crafting quality and value in his knives. Jim was mentored by Jerry McClure, an accomplished and well-respected knifemaker for 60 years.
This outstanding build is Jim's 2-blade Trapper, slip-joint folder. It features two (2) hand rubbed, satin finished CPM154 stainless steel blades, premium Amber Stag scales and 416 stainless steel fluted front bolster, pins and Keyhole shield. The blade profiles are a Clip point and a Spey. Jim has done some well-executed, intricate file-work on the liners and springs, that continue about 1" along the spine of the blades. The transition from springs to blade spines is virtually seamless!
This knife comes to Windy City Knives from the original owner. It is in new condition. Both blades have well cut, comfortable nail nicks, with firm, smooth pulls. Both blades have half stops. The blades lock up tight with no play, and the blade seating is centered between their respective liners. Comes in a padded zippered case with Jim's signed COA/business card.
