The D-Guard Bowie is a legendary battle weapon, part sword - part knife.  The powerfully balanced design makes it a favorite tool for many tasks but was kept ready for battle at all times.  This Harvey Dean D-Guard Bowie is the featured knife that Harvey builds in his 2-set DVD , "Making a D-Guard Bowie".  This is the actual knife, and it is pictured on the cover of the jewel case.  In the DVD, Harvey reveals his secrets and improvements for making a more secure and artful D-Guard Bowie, including an interview with the Master himself.  

Harvey forged the blade from 1084 carbon steel.  The handle is African Blackwood.  And the Guard, ferrule and butt cap are nickel silver.  The guard, ferrule and butt cap are just begging to be engraved!  There's plenty of real estate to make it your own.  In fact, Harvey has done one or two with his own engraving.  This knife feels absolutely outstanding in hand.

The knife came from Harvey shortly after it was completed in around 2007.  Safe stored in a climate controlled safe, it has since been sent back to him within the past year for a "fluff and buff" and then returned to the safe.  It is in beautiful condition, just like it was when it was originally made.  It is unused and uncarried, and has never been sharpened.  There is no sheath.  It will come in a large generic padded, zippered case, along with the pictured 2-DVD set.  This is an outstanding example of Harvey's work.
