This Herman J. Schneider custom Drop Point Hunter is marked #373. The leather sheath, also made by H.J. Schneider is marked #376. This is the sheath that was provided to the original owner when he purchased the knife - it fits the knife perfectly! We are aware that Mr. Schneider made more than one of these drop point hunters, and it is likely that there was a sheath mix-up. This sheath is built to be worn on the LEFT. It is perfect for the lefty, can be worn left for right-handed cross-draw, or can be worn reversed on the right. The satin finished stainless steel drop point blade has a full, tapered tang with maroon liners. It is made from 3/16 blade stock. The contoured handle is rich, creamy, polished yellow micarta with nickel silver and brass pins, and a brass lanyard tube pin. This knife came from the collection of the original owner. It has been well cared for, stored properly, and is in unused, mint condition. It is a beautiful piece, and extremely comfortable in the hand.
