James R. Cook M.S. Damascus Blue Bayou Hunter
James R. Cook M.S. Damascus Blue Bayou Hunter
I believe that J.R. Cook calls this hunting knife his Blue Bayou Hunter. It features a Damascus blade forged from 1084 and L6 steels, in what J.R. describes as controlled pattern Damascus. The knife is of hidden tang construction, as seen in the photos of the handle from the top and bottom. The single finger guard is nickel silver, and the pins are 416 stainless. The handle is two (2) well matched stag slabs, with lots of character, color and depth. It feels wonderful in-hand. J.R. is an ABS Master Smith, earning his rating in 1991. He is also a member of the Arkansas Knifemakers Association. In 2007 the Arkansas Heritage Commission ceremoniously awarded him the title of Arkansas Living Treasure. The knife is in mint condition. It has been well cared for and stored properly. This knife has never been used, carried or re-sharpened. It comes with a leather pouch-type sheath with a belt loop, also made by J.R.
