Jerry Moen "Blue Max 2" Auto, Carbon Fiber Folding Knife (SOLD)
Jerry Moen "Blue Max 2" Auto, Carbon Fiber Folding Knife (SOLD)
Jerry Moen introduced The Blue Max at the 2015 Blade Show. His books were closed shortly after the show. The knife was made in honor of his personal friend and knife collector Raymond RB Beadle of Blue Max Funny Car fame, who passed away in October of 2014. Jerry doesn't make the Blue Max any longer. Finding one available in the secondary market is not easy, considering the number he made, and the fact that those who have one don't want to part with it. This is The Blue Max 2 Auto folder, Jerry's smaller version of the knife vs. The Blue Max 2. It is made of all carbon fiber, weighing in at a mere 2.9 total ounces. The blade is CTS-XHP stainless steel with satin flats and a tumbled blade finish, and jimping on the thumb-rest. All the fittings, as well as the sculpted backspacer and tip-up pocket clip are blue anodized titanium. It rides on bearings, and fires fast, strong and smooth. This knife was acquired from the original owner and did not lock in the open position when fired. I sent it back to Jerry to fix the lock. It still needs some breaking in. Once every 20 or 25 deployments it will not lock. The blade is centered in the handle. Please know your state's laws regarding automatic knives before purchasing. Comes in a padded zippered case.
