Joe Caswell EDX Folder "In-Line" Clip, "Lockdown" Pivot System 1SE 059 (SOLD)
Joe Caswell’s EDX won the Most Innovative Design award at the Blade Show 2011, and the Most Unique Design at the 2010 USN G2 Gathering. The EDX features highly unique, extremely robust design and construction. It includes two radical, patent-pending technologies: The “ In-Line ” Clip / Lock System is a high-performance lock with auto-retracting pocket clip function in one moving part. It’s a powerful, uncomplicated system designed for hard-use, hostile-environment applications. The “ Lockdown ” Pivot System combines adjustability with structural-support capabilities. It allows blade adjustment like a standard pivot, but is tightened to perform as a rigid structural support (like a standoff). This results in unprecedented assembly rigidity by providing true support at the best possible place -- at the pivot point. This advantage enhances assembly performance and provides unique opportunities for the knife designer. This knife is marked 1SE 059. The 1SE signifies “first serial edition”. According to Joe, this would differentiate it from any potential future runs and it's a serial edition, so the number of this run is not associated with a specific number like a limited edition would be. At present, there are only about 60 SE versions in existence worldwide, which would make it very rare and collectible. The blade steel of the SE is CPM 154CM, BOS Heat Treated to 61 RC. The frame is constructed of 6al-4v titanium. The knife is in perfect, mint condition, having had only 1 owner. The blade locks up amazingly tight, and is centered in the handle when closed. It comes with the original padded sock pouch that Joe provided with the EDX.
