Mike Ruth Mammoth Damascus Frame Handle Seashell Bowie Knife + Rowe Leather Sheath

Mike Ruth earned his ABS Journeyman Smith in 2003.  Since then, he has been building Mastersmith quality knives.  This Damascus Bowie knife is indicative of Mike's outstanding work, and his attention to design, detail, and fit and finish.  Great ergonomics and balance - the perfect combination.  Mike makes knives that are not only esthetically pleasing to hold and look at, but they are also built to perform.

Mike called this knife his Seashell Damascus Bowie.  The blade is forged from 1084 and 15n20 steels.  In addition to Mike’s maker’s mark, this knife is also marked “5Yr” on the ricasso of side “B”.  This was one of Mike’s 5-year anniversary knives, commemorating a milestone in his knife making career.  It has a frame handle with creamy, well-matched Mammoth scales, with lots of blues and greens.  The fittings, including the Seashell guard, ferrule and pins are all 416 stainless steel.  The engraving on the “flats” of both sides of the guard were done by master engraver and Mastersmith Steve Dunn.  For such a big knife, it is well-balanced and comfortable in-hand.  The knife has had one previous owner.  It has been stored in a climate controlled safe since new.  It is in mint condition.  It has never been used, carried or sharpened.  Comes with a Kenny Rowe frog button leather belt sheath and a Ruth Knives padded zipper case.
