Peter Martin Spring-Assisted Damascus Liner-Lock Folding Knife
Peter Martin Spring-Assisted Damascus Liner-Lock Folding Knife
From Peter Martin...My name is Peter Martin and I have been making knives for over 20 years and I'm a voting member of the Knifemaker's Guild. Sold my first knife in 1988, started hand forging steel in 1989, and my own Damascus in 1992. I believe in sole authorship, and I stand behind my knives 100%. All of my knives are handmade 1 at a time. Forge welding the Damascus billets, patterning and shaping the blades is performed solely by myself to ensure the finest quality control. I've spent a lot of time and resources researching and testing for proper heat treatment of my blades and I can guarantee that they are heat treated to perform to the best of their abilities for which they were intended. I select only the best natural handle materials available at the time. I have no get by factor. It's either the very best or it's not used. My knives, are just that, made by me down to the smallest detail. On occasion I will allow other qualified artists to perform engraving or scrimshaw work on my knives. This Peter Martin spring-assisted folding knife is stamped PATENT PENDING on the backspring. I am not certain what Peter is/was patenting, and when the patent was submitted. The knife features a Damascus blade, and the handle appears to be Micarta scales. The Micarta has been carved on both sides. The liners are brass, and there is an oversized tip-up mounted pocket clip. To the best of my knowledge, the knife has never used, carried or sharpened. However, the backspacer does have a couple of small scratches around the Patent Pending mark, as seen in the photograph. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition. The blade locks up tight when opened and sits close to centered between the liners when closed. The blade flicks out easily and with authority. It did not come to me with a case, but I will make sure it includes some kind of sleeve or pouch for storage/carry.
Condition: Previously owned. As noted above. Never used, carried or sharpened.
